Opposition frontbencher Andrew Robb says the Coalition is now just a few points shy of an election victory, after the latest Newspoll showed Julia Gillard and Labor losing ground.
Today's Newspoll has the Coalition overtaking Labor in the primary vote and narrowing its deficit on two-party preferred to just four points. Ms Gillard's preferred prime minister lead over Tony Abbott has been almost halved to 16 points.
